Finally getting around to editing some of the very little video footage I filmed at Sun Studios in Memphis last year. Sun recording studio was where Elvis recorded his first record and was discovered. He dropped in to make a record for his mother called “My Happiness”. The rest is history! Marion Keisker, who sat at the desk you’ll see in the video, is credited with really drawing the owner, Sam Phillip’s, attention to Elvis. Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and others started at Sun, as well.
I wish I’d taken more footage at Sun, but, I was like a kid in a candy store, being a lifelong Elvis fan. 😂 🍭
I call this VERY short film… “The Microphone”.
