The historic Elmwood Cemetery is the oldest active cemetery in Memphis. This video is just a small peek into 150 years of Memphis history. I purchased the audio tour from the website, downloaded the map and just started a beautiful walk through local history.
Some of the highlights in this video includes No Man’s Land and the Yellow Fever Epidemic, Annie Cook the “19th Century Mary Madelene”, the Tennessee Children’s Home Society Memorial, Confederate Soldiers Rest, slave trader Wade Hampton Bolton gravesite, the tallest obelisk in Elmwood, the Church family mausoleum, Boss Crump gravesite and more.
Born and raised in Memphis, Zach and Justin got married in September 2019. After spending hours looking for a perfect videographer, Justin became interested in this form of storytelling. Fast forward to 2020 and he found a lot more time on his hands due to Covid 19. While we can’t quit our jobs tomorrow and travel around the world, we can at least take you around our hometown of Memphis. Come along with us as we learn filming, editing and explore our backyard.
